Getting to Know Me and You

I've recently become a fan of Kim at My Inner Chick, and her hilarious, poignant, and important voice in the blogging world. Her responses to some "Foodie Questions" that she found on the blog of Mandy at The Complete Cook Book prompted me to accept her invitation to share and get to know one other with the questions below. And be sure and check out Mandy's original post at The Complete Cookbook!

(Apologizing in advance for the fact that some of my responses have two answers - I'm a Gemini and can't help it.)

1. What 5 items are always in your fridge?Mayonnaise
Real butter
Green olives
Low fat milk
Diet Coke
(Think of the irony of the first 2 vs the last 2)

2. What 5 items are always in your pantry ?
(Sorry, but I have 6)
Coffee-Mate Vanilla Caramel powdered coffee creamer
Unbleached flour
Chocolate chips
Canned sour cherries
Flying Bee Honey
Penzey's spices

3. Do you write a grocery list or do you shop off the cuff?
I have a master list that includes Sam's, WalMart, and 2 local grocery stores. And while I'm at those stores I shop off the cuff.

4. What is the most used item/s in your kitchen?
My KitchenAid mixer

5. What do you have in your kitchen that may seem strange to other people?
A real popcorn popper

6. If you were to enter a Come Dine With Me challenge, what would you cook?

Starter:
Freshly picked lettuce and romaine with sliced heirloom tomatoes, homemade croutons, and homemade Ranch dressing

Mains:
Bacon-Wrapped Brown Sugar Meatloaf
Green Beans Caesar
Gnocchi Mac and Cheese

Dessert:
My Granny's Gooseberry Pie and Sour Cherry Pie
Freshly picked strawberries
Blue Bell Natural Vanilla Bean Ice Cream with homemade hot fudge sauce

7. If you could invite any 4 living celebrities in the world to dinner, who would they be?
Mireille Enos
Cesar Milan (the Dog Whisperer)
Laura Bush
Alex Guarnaschelli

8. What is your favorite breakfast out?
It's always a toss-up between Sweet Potato Pancakes or Biscuit Debris at Jimmy's Egg in Oklahoma City.

9. What one condiment could you not be without?
Mayonnaise and mustard (honey or Dijon)

10. Some people seemed to have a problem eating leftovers or reheated food, do you?
Leftover meatloaf heated in a skillet and put between two slices of bread with mayonnaise makes the best sandwich in the world, so no, I don't have a problem.

Linda, thanks again for taking part in the fun. I loved reading your answers and I am insanely jealous that you have a KitchenAid and my hubby would be equally as jealous about your popcorn popper. :-)
I am looking forward to reading more on your lovely blog.
Have a happy week.
:-) Mandy

--Linda,
I savored this! Soooo fun.
I am going to make that brown-sugar meatloaf. It sounds devine. I shall get the ingrediants tomorrow! Mr. L will looove it.
And your list of celebriites is quite unique: The dog whisperer? Very interesting.
Homemade Croutons?! You put me to shame, Linda.
Great Post. xx
